1. What is your most prized possession?
Oh that’s a toughie, I always think of a prized possession one that you would want to save if there was a fire so my answer would be Mikey my very loyal and noisy Westie. I’m not big on material possessions, if I’ve got my family I’ve got all I need. He’s my buddy, my companion and my confident (sp!)
2. Do you have any regrets?
Oh yes, I have many but there’s absolutely naff all I can do about it now. My biggest regret is not dieting before my wedding. I hate my wedding photographs and really wish I had of had my wake up call before I got married so I could look back at my photographs and feel happy with what I see. Unfortunately, I don’t and regretfully I wish we hadn’t spent so much on them seeing as they are in a really lovely case hidden in our bedroom.
3. What is your pet hate?
My pet hate is telephone cold callers! If I’d have wanted a new mobile phone/legal aid/PP insurance/double glazed windows I would have called them. Grrrrrr!
4. What film can you watch time and time again?
The film I can watch over and over is Bridget Jone’s’ Diary. Many moons ago I thought I might actually be the real life version of Bridget Jones and I just love watching Hugh Grant and Colin Firth argue over her. It’s brilliant.
5. How would you spend a fantasy 24 hours with no travel restrictions?
Ohhhh good question. I think I would want to wake up in a plush New York hotel with a slap up breakfast (obviously we’re not counting WW points in a fantasy 24 hours) and then be pampered for the first couple of hours. I’m thinking hair, nails, make up etc. Then I would want to go to shopping with somebody else’s credit card. I think if money was no object I could shop until I dropped. I would want to break the shopping trip up with a posh lunch and then continue the shopping into the afternoon. I would go back to my hotel room for 40 winks then I’d be off out for dinner and cocktails before going onto see a Broadway show.
6. Any unfulfilled ambitions?
My only unfulfilled ambition is to be a Mummy. I’m in a very happy marriage with a wonderful man, I have my own home and I’m a CIPD qualified HR professional. Obviously I would love to be debt free and stay at home all day eating cake, sewing and quilting without gaining an ounce but for some reason, I don’t think it’s going to happen.
7. Which person has influenced you the most in life?
Ohhh another good question. I’m influenced by many different people so I’m not sure who to say for this one. My determination for doing well on WW has been a long documented affair. This is my 4th year (albeit off and on) and along the way I’ve admired the efforts of many bloggers. They no longer blog about WW as they’ve reached their ultimate WW goal weight and moved on with life but for the record they include Bryher, Alice and Lana. (Two of which are now expecting their first babies so there is hope for me to continue on my WW journey!) I’m influenced on a daily basis by the many wonderfully talented sewers and quilters out there. I just adore their work and there are too many to mention. On a personal level, my Mom and Dad are a massive inspiration to me. They both work incredibly hard, working full time and still have time to look after my nephew. My Mom squeezes in free time to craft and my Dad, bless him, just gets as much rest as he can whilst he’s not working. I’ve definitely got my work ethic from them. Work hard/play hard.
8. Guilty pleasure?
I guess listening to Olly Murs and One Direction should be included here…but sshhhh don’t tell anyone!
9. Most embarrassing moment?
Oh I have many, including going to the Opticians, aged 18 and being asked to open my eyes wide, I opened my mouth (as if I was in the dentist!) and during my first visit to my hubby’s family Christmas get together about 8 years ago (pre-marriage) we were playing a board game and I read out the question ‘Name 5 professionals that are to do with ears’, well after 15 minutes of hubby’s family coming up with all sorts of answers including Doctors, Surgeons etc, I re-read the question and it actually said ‘cars’! D’oh..
10. Why do you blog?
I blog, primarily, as a record of my WW journey. If I can inspire just one or two people to make a few changes to help with their weight loss I am a happy lady. I was ‘once’ someone who would never diet and be successful at it, but now i’m actually proving that I can do it and if I can do it, anyone can. I’m overweight because I like food. I’m not going to lie. I LOVE food. My relationship with food has always been an emotional one; if I was happy, I’d celebrate with food, if I was upset I’d console myself with food. By being able to break it all down and think about the reasons why I ate so much crap has really helped me. I might blog a load of rubbish to some people but i’m not asking them to read it. I’m blogging for my own personal reasons and as I said, if my experiences can help others then that’s fab!
11. What is your dream job?
When I was younger I always wanted to be in the Navy on board an aircraft carrier, waving in and out the airplanes (think Top Gun) but once I’d started to pile the weight on in secondary school due to hidden depression and a lack of confidence, I realised I’d never be fit enough to do such a job.My dream job now would be to run my own crafting business. I would love to open up a local sewing and quilting store with space to run workshops (obviously I would get the pro’s in) and be able to offer tea, coffee and cake to those who visited. There’s a lack of crafting shops here in my little area of the West Midlands and I would love to set one up. It’ll have to be a dream for the time being as I’d need plenty of money (to import fabrics from the States) but I will keep that dream alive in the hope I can win the lottery.

Game plan success?
Now I know it’s only the first week I’ve implemented my game plan but it seems to have had a very positive start… I lost 4lb this week! Yippee!
I was over the moon with the loss and after having a sneaky peek this morning (I know, I know!) I thought it might have even been a bit more than 4lb but I’m really pleased with that as I’m now up to 62lb loss. I can almost see those shoes. I’ve got 1lb until I get my 4 and 1/2 stone total loss; 5lb to go until I get into the next stone bracket and 13lb until my 75lb loss. Can I get there for the first week in April? (My hubby’s birthday weekend, I want a meal at an Italian restaurant) I’ve got 5 weeks to go. I’m going to do everything in my power to get there so we’ll see.
This week there’s not much time for exercise so I’m going to have to cram it in somewhere. I’ve got a hair appointment tomorrow evening, looking after my nephew on Friday night/Saturday day and a hen do meal on Saturday night. I’ll do my usual walking with Mikey and get on the wii where I can for a Zumba session or two. I’m going to drive on Saturday night so I won’t be drinking and it’s at a posh pub/bistro type place so I might just have zero point soup through the day and then eat steak and salad for my dinner.
Oh, just realised I didn’t stick to the game plan completely…. I tried a new WW drink yesterday, I picked up 3 new bottles from Poundland. Flavours include Sicilian Lemonade, Brazilian orange with mango and watermelon and italian red grape & raspberry. In my opinion, the lemonade isn’t anything special however the fruit flavoured waters are delicious. Sweet and moreish. All flavours 0 Propoints per bottle. Not sure what the prices were as I bought 3 for £1.50 but I think the cashier tilled it up wrong.
I’m going to stick to my game plan to see if it actually does work so that it’s not just a one off and hope you all have a fab week
