Another lucky week…

The scales this afternoon showed I’d stayed the same. I think that’s quite lucky considering the crap I ate on Friday night and the cocktails/vodka jelly/baileys coffee I drank at the weekend. Have had a strong word with ones self and will be getting thy bum back to the gym pronto. I’ve got another 2 weigh ins until my rescheduled hospital appointment so realistically will be going to that around 56/57lb lighter. I’d love to shift a few more pounds in the next couple of weeks so will have to be good, get exercising and track, weigh and be honest with myself.

In the meeting tonight my WW leader Deb presented me with a certificate for my woofer Mikey in recognition of all the support he gives me. My friends dog Ollie was also awarded a certificate so “well done Ollie for helping Mommy and Daddy (Amanda and Andy) with their weightloss too!” I do love that I can take him out, get some fresh air and bag some activity points at the same time. He does drive me mad sometimes but mostly he’s a fab loyal friend who can instantly change my mood with a cuddle, I’d be lost without him.

It could be a handmade christmas….

This year I’m making handmade christmas decorations for all my family (Sorry, if we’re related you know what you’re getting now!) and last week hubby decided I should try and sell them over on ebay. I ummed and ahhhed about it for a while but took the plunge and listed them here. They’re priced at £1.99 each and you can choose from a stocking, christmas tree, heart or reindeer.

They are made to order and totally unique. You can have whatever you like written on them but as they are quite small, it’s best to keep it short and sweet. I love all of them and will be decorating my tree this year with the personalised touch.

Meal Planning Monday 14.11.2011

This week’s meals are all based round the comfort foods that hubby and I enjoy eating. They’re also meals that can be made (prepared and cooked) within an hour so perfect for when we have plans or don’t have much time. It’s dark when I get home from work now in the evening so it always feels better cooking hot filling meals in the warmth of my kitchen. I am secretly praying for snow at some point this winter because I love looking out the window and seeing the orange glow against the white of the snow.

Anyway, meals on this week’s menu include

- Winter hotpot with cheesy herb dumplings
- Turkey and Bacon burgers with relish
- Oven baked fish, oven baked WW chips and mushy peas
- Chilli meatballs and rice
- Spaghetti carbonara

All the meals are WW friendly so fit in well with my healthy eating plan. For lunches I’m having ham salads with a Warburton thin, low fat crisps and a piece of fruit and for snacks I’m going to have fruit or the odd curly wurly, it’d be rude not too!

#Fuff Weeks 8 & 9

Oooops, I’ve been a bit crap on the blogging front lately, sorry! But better late than never here’s my Fuff Week 8 questions..

What have you done this week to work towards your goals?
This week I’ve tried to get back on track (after my birthday) and tried to behave myself…however, I’m not sure what on earth possessed me but I went to a fireworks party on Friday night at our friends house and the host makes the most amazing rocky road. It was amazing…I know that becuase I managed to consume about 5 (small) pieces, it is to die for! I also managed to chuff 2 burgers in buns (this was even after my tea!) What a piglet! I’ve been back on track since then and have tried to exercise to combat it but who knows what will happen on the scales on Tuesday night.

What have you done to make yourself feel fabulous?
I have bought a dress on Ebay because I couldn’t find one anywhere else that I liked. The dress may be a little big but the next size down would of being too small! I think I’m in that inbetween stage at the moment. The dress is gorgeous and I love it so will post piccies when I’m all glammed up and look marvellous.

How important is a social life to you? Are you a loner or a butterfly or somewhere in between?
To be brutally honest, my social life is pants! I don’t have a massive group of friends but I do have friends from various circles: work, a couple of my old work friends who I keep in touch with, the fabulous girls from uni and college, a few life friends (who i’ve known since forever but we’re not that close anymore) and now the lovely peeps who I’ve met through WW. Saying that my social life is pants, I’d much prefer to have a few nights a month to catch up with friends in a pub chatting the night away rather than going out on the piss every week. I’m so over that. I do wish my friends would make more of an effort sometimes but then it’s two ways isnt it? Perhaps i’m the crap friend who needs to be in touch more and make more of an effort to meet up. I guess it all comes back down to my confidence. My confidence at the moment is quite good but I do get worried about what my friends think of me (my high school years still haunt me!)

How do you balance life outside your home with healthy living?
I’m quite good at staying on track with my healthy living at work. I take a packed lunch with me and various other bits so always have healthy snacks and squash at work to keep me on the straight and narrow. Otherwise I’m a good planner so would always plan what I’m eating if we were to eat out. I don’t like healthy eating get in the way of having a nice night, i’m more than happy with a chicken salad to stay on track.

What do you like to do for fun?
Ohh good question. What is fun? How do you define fun? I enjoy being crafty but I wouldnt say that is fun, it’s enjoyable but it doesn’t make me belly laugh. For fun, I spend time with my hubby perhaps going to the cinema or going out somewhere new. I do love spending time with my nearest and dearest.

What is the most positive thing you’ve taken away from this challenge?
I think the most positive hting I’ve taken away from this challenge is being reminded to look back at what I have actually achieved. I’ve come a long way and sometimes get lost in the throws of day to day life. If I have a rubbish week on the scales (gain or stay the same) I need to remember that in the grand scheme of things, as long as I get back on track and make changes for a better week it won’t matter.

It’s your last week, the run to the finish, what is your priority?
To remain on track, have a good weightloss and get nearer to that 4.5 stone target!

Fun Stuff: Desert Island, you can take 1 person, 1 famous person and 3 items besides food and water. Who and what do you take?
One person: My hubby because I’d always feel safe (awww, what a softie!)
Famous person: Bear Grylls (he’ll be able to make us a hut and make sure we have food to eat!)
Three items: My quilt (it might get cold!), a shed load of curly wurly’s and soap

Bit of a selfish picture (dog lovers only) but it definitely suits me. Walking the woofer gives me time to chill out, put things into perspective and move forward with my life. Hope you’ve all had a good week, looking forward to reading your posts

Week 44: weigh in update

So weigh in (post birthday) showed I’m up 0.5lb from last week and I’m happy with that to be honest. We ate out at Pizza Express as my birthday treat and had a Krispy Kreme Million Shortbread donut for pudding. I had a lovely birthday, had lots of money and some clothes vouchers and a gorgeous necklace off my hubby and a lovely Betty Jackson Black scarf off the in-laws, very spoilt! I had Friday off work so spent the day out mooching in town looking for something nice. How typical, I have money and see nothing! I did buy a new pair of pjs from Matalan and some DKNY perfume but will keep the rest for a shopping spree in the new year.

I had a good/bad weekend foodwise: Saturday I was at the NEC all day with my Mum but had my breakfast before I left so was pretty full until lunchtime. I took a pasta salad with me for lunch which was great but had a mega fail on for dinner as I couldn’t be bothered to cook nor could hubby so we had a quick chippy meal. I then proceeded to scoff (over the weekend) a bag of jelly beans (1 bag = 10pp), 4 small bags of Thorntons choccies, half a bag of popcorn with hubby and a good couple of handfuls of pick’n'mix at the cinema = what a pig!

I’m pleased to say that I have walked loads this week and I made myself do an hour of zumba on the wii Sunday morning along with my usual Zumba class yesterday evening so hopefully if I continue to be good this week I’ll be ok for a loss next week. Hoping to get to the gym a couple of times this week too so it will all help.

Will try and get my #FUFF Week 8 post written up in the next day or two but may have a double post at the weekend as the week’s filling up fast and there’s not enough hours in the day to cram everything in. Seriously don’t know how the supermums of this world do it? I only have a hubby and a dog!
