How do you spend yours?

Those in the know will get how this works, I’m talking Weight Watcher ProPoints. Because of my current weight I’m allowed 40 propoints per day and have a weekly allowance of 49 propoints to use as I wish. This is how I would typically use my daily allowance;

Breakfast:
40g Just Right cereal (6pp) 6/40
1/2 pint of semi skimmed milk to use in coffee and a splash on my cereal (4pp) 10/40

Midmorning snack:
Apple (Opp) 10/40
Weightwatcher snack bar (2pp) 12/40

Lunch: 
Wholemeal Pitta (4pp) with 2 slices of wafer thin ham (2pp) and lettuce (Opp) 18/40
Salt and Vinegar Snack a Jacks (2pp) 20/40
Ryvita (1pp) and Extra Low Fat Laughing Cow Cheese  (Opp) 21/40
Milkybar buttons Treat Size (2pp) 23/40

Dinner:
Italian Chicken aka Devils chicken (5pp) 28/40
40g Basmati Rice (4pp) 32/40
80g Mixed Frozen Veg (2pp) 34/40
Cabbage, Brocolli and Cauliflower (Opp) 34/40

Anytime:
Pink and Whites (1pp) 35/40
Nectarine (Opp) 35/40
Curly wurly (3pp) 38/40
Weight Watcher Ginger Crunch Biscuits (2pp) 40/40

I’ve been bulking out my meals to stop me picking at unhealthy options in between meal times but I always seem to have at least 5 or 6 points left over. I’m not happy with how my weightloss seems to have slowed down recently having only lost 4lb in the last 3 weeks. Do you think I should use them all and treat myself to a curly wurly or a packet of biscuits (WW) or should I try and not use them? I’d be interested in hearing how you spend your points and if you can see any errors in what I’m eating.

I’m also quite active doing Zumba for an hour three times per week and take Mikey out at least 4 times per week. Sundays we walk 4.5 mile in just under 90 minutes.

Help! I really want to shake my weightloss so I can get off this plateau and get into the next stone bracket (only 3lb away!)

Week 20 inch loss stats…

Since the start of my weightwatchers journey, every 4 weeks you are encouraged to take your measurements to see how the body is changing along with the obvious weightloss. And I’m so pleased because my as the weight is slowly dropping off, the inches seem to be disappearing too.

So, week 20 and out came the tape measure and my sister and I measured each other. We’ve measured each other from the off so we know exactly where we measured last time to try and keep the stats accurate. Look how many inches i’ve lost over 20 weeks….

Right Upper Arm: 1.5″ (4cm)
Waist: 5.5″ (14cm)
Hips: 4.7″ (12cm)
Right Thigh: 5.9″ (15cm)

In total, I’ve lost a massive 17″ off various parts of my body which is a whopping 45cm!

Bring on the next 20 weeks!

Weightloss Wednesday…Week 20

So week 20 and i’ve lost 0.5lb. I know a loss is a loss but i’m still not impressed. I really thought after doing 2 sessions of Zumba this week already and sweating like a pig on both occasions it would have been more. Oh well, here’s to next week, i’m determined to get more than a measly 0.5lb loss. But in total, i’ve lost 35lb so that’s pretty good going. 7lb to go until I get to my 3 stone loss and I really want that before I go on my family camping weekend at the end of June and I bloody hope I’m going to get it, if not more!

I think I might need to shake things up a bit on the food front. We seem to be eating the same foods week in week out and i’m not sure if thats helping with my weightloss. I seem to struggle a bit with lunches as I have to take a lunch in but each night I seem to be stuck of what to take in. Today I had a ham salad (2pp) with a cup of soup (4pp) but I didn’t enjoy it very much. Not sure what i’m going to have tomorrow, could take in 2 pieces of warburtons bread for toast (6pp) and a tin of chopped tomatoes (0pp) as that’s pretty easy to do. I’m a bit bored of salads now so i’d welcome any ideas of what to have for lunch.

Looking to the week ahead (Thurs-Weds) I’m meeting my friend tomorrow night for a drink, it’ll be a diet coke night as she’s expecting and i’ll be driving. Friday i’m planning on walking the dog and an hours Zumba. Saturday, we have tickets to Twickenham for the Aviva Premiership Final which I’m really looking forward to it. I’ve never been to a rugby match before let alone a rugby final so it should be a fantastic day. Sunday, I’ll be walking round Sandwell Valley again with the WW group and i’m hoping to get some Zumba in there too! No plans for the bank holiday Monday as yet but i’m sure it’ll involve some sort of exercise with Mikey as Zumba is cancelled. Just hoping it will all lead to a good weightloss for week 21.

Woo Woo and a curry..

Friday night I was invited out by some friends who I have got to know over the last 5 months at WW and Zumba. It was one of the ladies birthdays and as we all live quite local she suggested a few drinks followed by something to eat. Well if anyone knows Wednesbury, it’s not short of one or five curry houses so we ended up having a few drinks (8 jugs of Woo Woo cocktails) between 5 of us (oooops…but they were soooo nice!) and a vegetable curry followed by a curry house disco (don’t ask!) . I had been good all day so had the points (for the curry) and wrote off the Woo Woos in the my weekly allowance. Since then i’ve been really good to make sure i’m within my points and I’ve done exercise every day to try and counteract the booze! Zumba tonight was a good laugh, at some point I completely confused myself and ended up facing the rest of the group washing the windows (think arms in circle movements at a face pace!!). Ah well, we’ll see how weigh in goes on Wednesday.

Today I’ve been and had my scan at the hospital following my painful trip to Dublin and the doc diagnosed Gallstones. Apparently from what he can see is that there were stones there and i’ve still got a few left in my gallbladder so I’m not sure what course of action the doc is going to recommend. They aren’t really giving me much grief at the moment so I’m happy to leave them where they are. I really don’t want an operation as I hate hospitals and the thought of being cut open makes me feel extremely queasy. Fingers crossed it won’t come to that.

I’ve updated my photo on the right of the page, this was taken just before I went out on Friday and I really like it. My friends have said they can really tell a difference in my face now which is such a brilliant feeling. Definitely spurs me on to keep at it, can’t imagine what I’m going to look if I double my current weight loss. Hopefully just a slimmer, smilier me…

Weightloss Wednesday…Week 19

Not entirely impressed with weigh in tonight. Scales showed I’d lost 0.5lb! Yep, half a flippin’ pound. If I’d have sat on my bum all weekend I wouldn’t have minded that but Saturday we walked about 8 mile in 2.5 hours and by the end I was red faced and had really achey legs. Sunday, I continued the agony and went on the regular walk over Sandwell Valley with my fellow walkers. I haven’t been able to Zumba much this week (Monday I had to work late and I was so tired when I got home) and yesterday I didn’t feel entirely brilliant which is a totally crap excuse but I was shattered so no wii zumba either.

So, plan for the week, walk Mikey for at least 30 mins everyday PLUS Zumba on the wii for at least an hour each night. Yes, I may be tired but this weight has gotta go. I’ve got 3.5lb until I fall into the next stone bracket and I want to be there so badly! Friday night i’m out with some friends for a few drinks and a curry so as I don’t drink much I’ll be on the diet coke and I’m wondering if I eat relatively low points throughout the day on Friday I can have a ‘proper’ vegetable curry, no rice! Ah well, we’ll see.

So week nineteen:2011 done..total weightloss 34.5lb.. In my twentieth week I’m going to shake up the foods i’m eating, get out with Mikey every day for at least 30 minutes (I’m thinking distance isn’t really probably going to help so I’m not walking 12km again this weekend, I just need regular activity) and I’m going to get on the wii and zumba, zumba, zumba!
