After all the build up, today is the big day for Prince William and Kate Middleton.

They make a fantastic couple and I wish them all the best for a fantastic marriage together.
I’ve just seen ‘the dress’ by Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen and Kate looks beautiful, so elegant!

Post Easter Weigh In…

Went to post easter weigh in tonight and I lost 2lb! Fantastic! So chuffed with that. I’ve gorged on a Cadbury’s chocolate easter egg this evening that I had saved from the weekend and it was delish. But i’m back on track now and as of tomorrow I’ll be forgetting Easter and ploughing forward to next weeks loss! I’ve even bought a skipping rope from class and i’ll be trying that out in the garden to up my exercise levels now i’m feeling better.

How am I enjoying the 3 day working week? Oh yes, far too much I can tell you! This weekend I’ve planned a mini spring clean (far too much crap around my house for my liking!) hopefully my Sunkissed fabric will arrive and I can continue on with my gorgeous Sunkissed patchwork quilt and I’m planning on walking the hind legs off the woofer as I need to get back into the swing of doing more exercise on a very regular basis and i’m sure he’s not going to complain.

So week sixteen:2011 done: total loss 32lb, in my sevententh week I’m going to up the exercise, drink more water and get out more again with Mikey. I’m missing Zumba too as with all these bank holidays it’s been cancelled so hopefully when the holidays are over i’ll be Zumba-ing again! Might try a new class too as I’ve discovered a lady who I work with at one of my client schools is a fitness instructor. I would never have guessed that but as I know her I might try it.

Have a good week everyone

Fab Easter weekend..

It’s been a great Easter holiday weekend, been able to chill, sew, catch up with family and eat! Oh boy, have I got my appetite back! We were invited to a family lunch on Sunday (which was 3 courses!!) and my Mum had already invited us to hers for a family supper (another Sunday dinner!) so no Easter eggs were eaten on Sunday. I tried to be good with the food I had meat and veg, no potatoes and had the fruit to start. Unfortunately I was won over by the toffee pavlova but hey, a girls gotta have a treat hasn’t she?

Today we drove up to West Kirby in the Wirral to go to our favourite beach. It’s gorgeous up there. We walked on the beach to 3 little islands which are exposed when the tide is out and it’s a good 4.5 mile walk. 10 lovely activity points totalled up there. Stupidly, I was only wearing my white pumps which were totally inappropriate footwear for a muddy beach and on our way back from the last island, I slipped on some nasty seaweed and slid down a rock! Luckily, I got a soft landing (thighs!) but managed to scrap my neck on the rock along with my hand and I seem to have pulled the muscles in my arms from saving myself. I was still am so embarrassed. Typically, I fell in front of a family of what seemed like 100 who didn’t laugh too much! Ah well, takes my mind off my other ailments eh? lol!

Back to work tomorrow for 3 days then we have the Royal Wedding Bank Holiday. My Mum made a personalised cross stitch cushion and card for Prince William and Kate Middleton to commemorate their wedding and she got a lovely letter back from Buckingham Palace on Saturday thanking her for her gift. She was so made up, i’m so pleased she got an acknowledgement (albeit from the Prince’s PR lady).

Hoping weigh in is a good one this week. I’ve been totally spurred on by a couple of things this weekend; firstly, I tried on a dress that I wore for my cousins wedding back in 2009 and it is TOO BIG! Wahoooooo! and secondly, I got some lovely comments on facebook from a few friends who I haven’t seen for ages on a recent photo I took of me. So i’m totally inspired to leave the choccies alone on the shelf in the kitchen and keep on track.

On the road to recovery..

Weigh in last night showed that I’d stayed the same. Not suprising as I had lost 6.5lb last week so I guess my body is adjusting now. I’m eating properly again now which is great because I really suffered with such a lack of energy it was exhausting, coupled with not sleeping well (got back ache from holding myself up at such a funny angle whilst I was ill hasn’t helped at all!) and I was good for absolutely nothing.

Hubby and I went to Bingo on Saturday night as he had a couple of free game tickets that came through for his birthday so we took advantage. Didn’t win anything on the actual bingo but hubby won £50 on the table game so he was well chuffed.

The rest of the weekend was spent enjoying a couple of films and taking it easy. Don’t often get time to lounge in bed but I certainly needed it so was able to do it guilt-free.

This week I’ve only been at work for 4 days as it’s a Bank Holiday (Good Friday) tomorrow, next week i’m working 3 days as we’ve got another 2 bank holidays (Easter Monday and the Royal Wedding) and the following week I’m only working 4 days again due to May Bank Holiday. Lots of lovely time off to hopefully get back into sewing and quilting. I haven’t done any for ages as I’ve been too knackered to get all my stuff out. The worst thing about sewing when you’re tired is that you make silly mistakes that you probably wouldn’t do normally. I hate making mistakes!

So 4 days off to look forward to and we’ve got absolutely gorgeous weather at the moment. Highest its been for a long time (about 21 degrees) so am planning on getting back out there and getting my full intake of Vitamin B and tiring Mikey out on long leisurely walks over Sutton Park and Sandwell Valley. Zumba has been cancelled on a Thursday so need to find something else to do or find a different class because as I’ve said before exercise is key.

Hope you all have a wonderful long bank holiday weekend and you’re safe in the sun
