Nostalgia is complete…

it’s finished, I’ve managed to complete my first ever quilt.

Fancy a look?

Well even if you don’t, i’m so chuffed with it i’m going to show it off anyway!

and here is the back;

I was really excited to receive a comment from the designer of the original Sugar Pop N Change Quilt, Melissa so I think that inspired me on to get moving with the quilt and get it finished. I am so pleased with how it’s turned out as I mentioned before it’s my first quilt I’ve done using a jelly roll and followed a tutorial for (I did change the back  and stitched in the ditch for the quilting part) and considering I taught myself how to do it, it is pretty good. I’m even impressed with the binding. There are a couple of small errors but I don’t mind them too much. I’ll learn from those mistakes in the future.

I can’t wait to show it off to my Mom this evening at a family party, she’s been really looking forward to seeing the finished article and I think she’s going to like it. I’m keeping this one for me as a snuggle quilt when I’m chilly but have plenty of ideas for more that I might give away as gifts. Don’t forget Mothers Day is just around the corner!

I know i’ll be able to look back at this quilt with a smile and remember how my passion for quilting all started..
