Christmas goodies galore!

I hope you have all had a fabulous Christmas. I had a fantastic time catching up with family and friends, eating too much processed food and nibbling chocolate for breakfast. I had a lot of fantastic gifts. Hubby bought me a fab selection of my favourite things including a cake stand, Thorntons choccies, a Cath Kidston mug, cake baking goodies and a Boofle bear apron. Other gifts included a gorgeous gingerbread man charm for my Links of London bracelet, Kirstie Allsops’ new book, more baking goodies and the Take That Progress Live Tour DVD. I have been spoilt!

We have also been given this huge lot of high in calorie/propoint yumminess…

Luckily for hubby’s work colleagues, the three or four tins of biscuits will be going to school on the first day back. I can’t have them in the house. I don’t really eat biscuits that I haven’t made but if they are in the house, they’ll be calling me! I’ve been given some yummy Ferrero Roche, some Hotel Chocolat angels, a Cadburys selection box and my most favourite, a couple of boxes of Jelly Beans… nom nom!

Hubby on the other hand has been given this lovely lot..

I’m sure it’ll keep him quiet for a few weeks. Our friends and family obviously know us very well!

So after a week of eating whatever appeared in front of me, I prepared myself for getting back on track today so I weighed myself this morning and was pretty appauled at the figures that glanced back at me. So I’m back on track, I have 6 days to lose the mega pounds I piled on but I’m determined. 2011 was the year I got my head around losing the flab but 2012 is going to be MY year. Wish me luck {sig}

Wishing you a Merry Christmas

Just before all the madness begins (it’s been a calm Christmas holiday at the Shilts household so far) I would like to take the opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. I hope you all get the Christmas you’re hoping for, have wonderful times with family and friends and enjoy all the yummy Christmas food and drink. Have fun xx {sig}

Our Christmas traditions..

Love ‘em or hate them, we all have them…

Over on Project Chantelle, the very lovely and motivational Chantelle has rounded up a whole host of fabulous guest bloggers who have been letting us in on their most cherished Christmas traditions, memories and quirks.

My particular favourite posts are from Doll about her memories of an Aussie Christmas and Colleen’s Christmas Day Donuts.

I’d like to thank Chantelle for hosting a fab Christmas get together, it’s fab to read what other folk get up to at Christmas and what it means to them so why not grab a hot chocolate, curl up on the sofa and read all about what Christmas means to MrsShilts xx {sig}

Weightloss reflections for 2011

Weigh in showed I’d gained 2.5lb this week but following on from last weeks massive loss of 7lb I knew I’d put something back on so I was happy with that.

In 50 weeks I have lost (in total) 58.5lb and I’m pretty damn pleased with that.

So what have I lost and gained over the year…I’ve gone down 3 (definite) dress sizes, down one shoe size, I’ve lost many inches off my body (will post the actual measurements on my weightloss page). I have gained a massive amount of self confidence and I actually quite like myself now. I’ve gained some incredibly amazing friends who have helped me every step of the way this year (WW & Zumba) and I’m hoping they will continue to inspire, motivate and kick me up the bum in the new year for the next phase of my this weightloss journey. I’ve also gained some self control and proved to myself that actually if you want something bad enough, nothing will get in your way!

I’m hoping not to go too overboard this Christmas and have been tracking what I’ve been eating. My downfall is buffet and sweets so if I can eliminate them from my sight I’ll be doing ok! (I have hidden my jelly beans from my curious box under the sideboard but I keep remembering they are there so I’m sure they’ll be eaten at some point!) Must get out with the dog tomorrow for exercise but the weather has been total crap lately and neither of us love the rain or wind to the point where we are totally soaked. Will try to get out tomorrow as the weather is looking very non-white and warm! Mad eh? {sig}
