I’ve been wanting to change my blog page for a while now so this afternoon I decided to have a go. What do you think? I designed the banner with a little help from hubby and I really love it. It feels a lot more personal and thats what I want from my blog. I need to edit some posts as they are a little out of sync for some reason but apart from that I really love it!
This week I’ve won a couple of things and I’m well chuffed…
Over at Snipsnaphappy I entered a giveaway by commenting on Ali’s blog and luckily for me, my comment got selected and I won a £25 voucher to spend at CSN stores..Well, I’ve gone and had a look and I’ve selected some gorgeous cake baking goodies. I’ve ordered some silicone cup cases and a wire cupcake stand which I have had my eye on for a while but havent had the money to buy one. So i’m very excited to see that arrive..What an excuse to bake cupcakes?!
My second gift this week was from the Macmillan Cancer raffle at work. I bought 3 tickets and one of them came out of the hat and I’ve won 4 tickets to Camelot theme park up in Lancashire. We’re planning on inviting my sister, brother in law and nephew for a freebie day out and we’re really looking forward to it. Cash is a little tight at present in both our households so a freebie day out like this is fantastic and for such a good cause too! Roll on the Summer holidays so we can have some family fun
The past week has been absolutely crazy! Both at home and work its been go, go, go!
As some of you know I work with Schools and they break up for the Summer holidays on Thursday and although I love working with them, I cannot wait until the phone goes quiet and the post tray is less than half full for 5 weeks at least. Unfortunately I don’t get the summer holidays off but I am lucky enough to get some time off in a couple of weeks so am very much looking forward to that and will be leaving hubby a list of ‘to dos’ whilst he is off having a lie in.. jealous me? Hell yeh!
Things at home have been equally as busy with my father in laws retirement do, our cousins birthday party, having our nephew to stay over the weekend and a couple of commission cushions. Not that I’m complaining, i’ve had fun at each of these events but i’m struggling to fit some sleep in when I’m so knackered I have bigger bags under my eyes than Sainsburys!
On Friday I was delighted to receive a tweet from the lovely Pippa over at A Mothers Ramblings to say that she was my Secretpostclub sender for this month. She has given me a fantastic gift over a psychic reading along with a set of Angel Cards so I can learn to read them myself. I will post about this more later in the week as I’m awaiting to hear all about my future and I am so excited by it all, I love things like this. Good news was that my Secretpostclub recipient (CJ) really liked her gift that I sent her so I’m really pleased.
Best get my ass to bed, got to be up in 6 hours…ouch!

Beautiful birthday bags..
After scheduling a huge lie in this morning, for some reason I woke up at stupid o’clock and was up by 8am. Today I’ve had a day to myself, enjoying doing housework at a leisurely pace and doing what I want to do. So, I’ve spent all day in my pj’s! So comfy!
I’ve made a batch of carrot cake muffins and a couple of pressies for my dear Mom whose birthday is on Thursday. I decided to make her a lined boxy purse for her nick nacks but it took me ages! For some reason, I couldn’t sew in a straight line and even sewed the wrong pieces of fabric together! But then I managed to get my head together and came up with a gorgeous little purse as pictured here;
Then as I had time to kill I thought I’d try something different. I recently bough the ‘Sew’ book by Cath Kidston which comes with free pre-cut designer material which makes a gorgeous shoulder bag. So, I have just spent the last 3 hours putting it together. I had to learn how to do buttonholes and I was so careful sewing it together. The thought of ruining it after I’d spent so long on it made me go extra slow. I’m not pleased with the stitches underneath though, for some reason they look a bit loose. Not sure why! Anyways, I’m going to give this little beauty to my Mom for her birthday. Hope she likes it.
Whilst I was stitching it together I thought of another idea I’d like to try so watch this space!
