A loss is a loss…

Went to weigh in last night and lost a measly half a pound. I know a loss is a loss but I have been really good all week and it is so depressing to see such a small loss. I’m hoping to have a better loss next week so will be sticking to my points, tracking, drinking loads of water and doing more exercise.

Not got too much planned for the bank holiday weekend except housework, bit of shopping and helping out at my nephews 2nd birthday party. I cant believe its been nearly 2 years since I had my health scare and I think its certainly put life into perspective. Unfortunately I seem to be heavier than I was last year by about 11lb but I am hoping to be alot lighter this time next year..Sorry i’m rambling on this evening..must need sleep zzzzzzzzzzzz

Paternal bonds..

Q2: Did you and your Father share any interests together? What & Why?

When I was about 6 or 7, I realised that every other Saturday my Dad would go out at about lunchtime and not come home for what seemed like hours. One Saturday morning I asked him where he was going and he told me he was going down the Albion with my Grandad. As a little girl I had no idea what the Albion was, where it was or what my Dad and Grandad would do when they got there. I bugged my Dad for ages to let me go with him and one Saturday he agreed. I don’t really remember my Dad telling me we were going to the football to watch West Bromwich Albion but I do remember the buzz I got from going to the football with my Dad and my Grandad. We first sat in the Halfords Lane Stand which is where my Aunty and Uncle had season tickets but it was a bit too posh for my liking. We stood in the Woodman Corner and I think I must have been the only 7 year old girl there. I didn’t actually stand on the terraces much, my Dad let me sit on the metal bars that ran along each step and I had a perfect view above everyone’s heads of the game. We stood there for a while until I got my first season ticket in the Family Stand. I loved it. We eventually moved to the new Birmingham Road Stand aka Brummie Road which was an all seated stand which they erected following the terrible Hillsborough disaster. I used to sit inbetween my Dad and Grandad and loved the cuddles my Dad used to give me on a Tuesday night game when it was cold. We used to joke that we were wearing our ‘lucky pants’ to ensure the team won and we’d always wear a shirt to the game that we’d previously won in. I loved going to the football with my Dad. We shared watching brilliant games, thrashings, promotion to the Premier League and relegation! I held a season ticket at the football for about 13 years until I went away to University and I couldn’t afford to go anymore. Shortly after my Grandad passed away in 2007 West Brom got to the Play Off Finals at the new Wembley. My Aunty and Uncle managed to get me and my Dad some tickets and we all went to Wembley for the game. I have never been through so many emotions in a game before.

It was a brilliant atmosphere and we even took my Grandads scarf along for good luck. I really wanted Albion to win for my Grandad but unfortunately we lost and Derby won promotion to the Premier League. I cried all the way home on the coach whilst been mocked by the Derby fans pulling moonies in the coaches next to us on the motorway. It was terrible! Unfortunately once my Grandad passed away my Dad lost the faith and didnt enjoy going down the footy anymore. Me and my hubby have been down The Hawthorns a few times since but it’s not the same as the old times. It’s one special bond that me and my Dad will always have together and I’ll always be a Baggie and going down the Albion will never been the same with out my Dad and my Grandad.

Written in memory of my Grandad who died 3 years next month – I miss you Grandad, love you lots xxx

Bootiful weekend..

The sun was shining here this weekend and we took full advantage! I went over to my sisters house and we took Mikey and nephew for a long walk over Chasewater. It was gorgeous. We made sure we had our sunblock on and plenty of fluids and walked around over half of the reservoir. We had to cut the walk short after 2 hours as nephew was really grumpy (he’s never walked so far!) so we phoned my mum to pop round and pick us up.

We were all shattered when we got back but glad we managed to make the most of the good weather.

Here’s a quick picture of Mikey when we got home

Today: Me and hubby went to a local camping shop and stocked up on some items for our camping holidays this year. We’re off to a local(ish) camp site in 2 weeks for 2 nights to trial our new holiday home (our new Vango tent) with Mikey who has never been on holiday with us before. We’ve never been brave enough to take him with us but we’re braving it this year! We then went round the in-laws and put up the tent in their backgarden in between the rain showers. Typically, it started to pee it down as soon as we’d put it up so we had to wait for the sun to come out again to dry it off! We’re very pleased though, its lovely and big and perfect for us and all our luxuries on holiday..

Here’s hoping for some more sunshine

Weigh in…

Just a quick update from tonights weigh in;

 I lost 4.5lb!

I am so pleased with that as I’ve been so good all week and the exercise that I did do has obviously paid off.

 Here’s to another successful week..

In other news, Mikey (pictured) has caused himself (and us!) a bit of grief. He’s only gone and eaten some gravel from the garden and made himself poorly. A trip to the Vets and £40 later, we’ve got 2 syringes full of stuff to line his gut, anti-biotics, anti-inflamitaries and allsorts! Luckily he’s been able to pass most of it and (sorry for ’too much information’) so we don’t think we’ll have to go back to the Vets for an x-ray and an operation to remove it! Scared me a bit though so i’m glad he seems to be getting better. Thank goodness for the ‘Pet Health Scheme’ that we pay into each month, otherwise it would of been nearer £150..What we do for our pets eh?

Journal Jar My Life

Q1: What would you ask for if a genie granted you three wishes?

Imagine if you only ever had 3 wishes and whatever you wished for came true, what would you ask for? If you could have whatever you wanted in the whole world right there at your fingers tip what you ask for? World peace, an end to poverty, no hole in the ozone layer…Having considered this for a number of seconds, if i’m entirely, brutally honest the three wishes that I would ask to be granted would be..

1) For me and my immediate family to be completely debt free (we would still work but be safe in the knowledge that whatever we earnt, we got to keep for ourselves and could do whatever we wanted with instead of paying off this credit card, this student loan and that overdraft.. sound familiar!)

2) To be a size 16 or less (I’m not asking to be a size 10 or even a size 12…I don’t really think it would suit me! I’ve always been ‘bigger’ but wish I was a size that would allow me to shop in ‘normal’ shops and would lower my BMI to a healthier bracket)

3)  To have at least 2 children, would love a girl and a boy but i’m not picky as long as they were healthy; Ideally I’d love a girl with blonde hair to take after me and a boy with dark hair to take after his dad..perfect!

I think my wishes are quite achievable and quite realistic! Who knows maybe one day my 3 wishes may come true!
